President
Jaeden Ooi
Jaeden is a third-year law student at the University of Tasmania. He serves on board the AUSLSS as the President and is in charge of overall team management. Jaeden formulates and implements policies and actions necessary for the object of the AUSLSS. Moreover, as the figurehead of the society, Jaeden safeguards, represents and advocates for the interest of all Singaporean law students in Australia who ascribe their names as members of the AUSLSS. Outside AUSLSS, Jaeden serves as an Editorial Board Member at the University of Tasmania Law Review.
Vice President (External)
Claris Yee
Claris is a final-year law student at Monash University. She serves on board the AUSLSS as the Vice President (External) and is primarily in charge of strategic partnerships with supporting companies and law practices. Claris plans and coordinates various career networking events and skills workshops, and liaises with regulatory bodies to ensure the smooth conduct of the society's activities. Further, she works alongside the Publications Director and the Treasurer to allow smooth materials outreach and finance management, for the events of the society. At Monash University, Claris serves as the Activities Officer at the Monash Student Association.
Vice President (Internal)
Oracle Chow
Oracle is a penultimate law and commerce student at Monash University. She serves on board the AUSLSS as our Vice President (Internal). Oracle is primarily in charge of the internal governance of AUSLSS committee members to maximise the efficiency of management. Additionally, she liaises with our University Representatives, together with our Student Engagement Officer, to hear the concerns, needs and wants of the Singaporean law students ensuring AUSLSS's effective representation of its members. At Monash University, Oracle assists in the People of Colour Department at the Monash Student Association and serves as a Project Consultant at 180 Degrees Consulting.
Publications Director
Theng Shuen Tay
Theng Shuen is a penultimate law and global studies student at Monash University. She serves on board the AUSLSS as our Publications Director. She is responsible for leading the society's editorial team in curating and producing high-quality articles for the society. Theng Shuen ensures that the society's publications reflect the group's mission and values while engaging and informing the Singaporean community in Australia.
Secretary
Chan Yi Jia
Yi Jia is a third-year law student at the University of Sydney. As the Secretary of the AUSLSS, Yi Jia ensures the proper management of the society's documents. She is in charge of recording the minutes of all Committee Meetings, and maintaining and updating the Register of Members. Outside of AUSLSS, Yi Jia also serves as the Vice-President (Careers and Development) of the Southeast Asian Law Society and a sub-committee member of the Internationals Portfolio of the Sydney University Law Society.
Student Engagement Officer
Ashley Tung
Ashley is a second-year law student at the University of Tasmania. She involves herself in bringing our Australian-Singaporean law student community together. This includes recruiting Singaporean law students from each Australian University approved pursuant to the Legal Profession (Qualified Persons) Rules 2011 to join the AUSLSS as University Representatives. Ashley is in charge of liaising with these University Representatives and managing their duties with AUSLSS, including the promotion of our events to their respective universities. Outside of AUSLSS, Ashley is the Publications Officer of the Singapore Students Society for the University of Tasmania (UTAS) and she is also part of the Competitions Committee for the UTAS Law Society.
External Affairs & Publications
The executive committee has two sub-teams: External Affairs and Publications. The External Affairs team focuses on building relationships with external stakeholders and organising collaborative events. The Publications team creates high-quality content, ensuring engaging communication with the Singaporean community in Australia and beyond.
